Update: Software Update 1.5 is Now Available

I originally expected TM7 Software Update 1.5 to begin rolling out on 23rd July, but the release was delayed and didn't arrive as planned.

The good news is that the update is now officially available from 30th July 2026.

One of the biggest advantages of owning a Thermomix TM7 is that it continues to improve long after you've bought it. Unlike many kitchen appliances, regular software updates introduce new features, refine existing ones and make everyday cooking even easier.

The latest TM7 Software Update 1.5, rolling out from 23rd July, is another great example of this.

Rather than introducing completely new cooking modes, this update focuses on improving the features we already use every day. As someone who cooks with the TM7 almost daily, both at home and during demonstrations, here's my take on everything included in Software Update 1.5.

1. Russian Language Support ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆

Software Update 1.5 introduces Russian as a system language on the TM7.

Russian-speaking users can now use the Thermomix interface, settings and Guided Cooking in their preferred language, making the appliance even more accessible.

⭐ My Review

I'm really pleased to see this added.

Until now, there hasn't been a TM7 launch in any Russian-speaking Thermomix subsidiary market, as those countries currently operate through distributors rather than direct TM7 launches. Even so, Vorwerk has listened to customer feedback and made Russian available as a system language.

It's another step towards making the TM7 accessible to more people around the world.

2. Multiple Timers ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the biggest additions in Software Update 1.5 is the ability to run up to five timers simultaneously.

Each timer can be named, making it much easier to keep track of everything you're cooking.

Whether you're timing:

• A roast in the oven

• Vegetables on the hob

• Something on the BBQ

• Bread proving

• Food resting

Your TM7 can now manage it all from one screen.

⭐ My Review

I think this is a brilliant addition.

If you're cooking a full meal with several components, having everything timed in one place is incredibly useful.

It probably won't be something I use every single day, but whenever I'm cooking for family, entertaining or running demonstrations, it'll save reaching for my phone.

3. Gather Ingredients ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is easily my favourite feature in the update.

Before starting Guided Cooking, you can now tap Gather Ingredients to create an interactive checklist of everything you'll need before you begin.

As you collect each ingredient, simply tick it off.

It's based on the professional kitchen principle of mise en place—having everything prepared before you start cooking.

Why it's useful

Preparing your ingredients beforehand helps you:

• Stay organised.

• Avoid forgetting ingredients.

• Cook with fewer interruptions.

• Enjoy a smoother Guided Cooking experience.

⭐ My Review

As a chef, getting everything ready before you start cooking is second nature.

It keeps you organised, reduces mistakes and makes the whole cooking process much more enjoyable.

I love that Thermomix is bringing that same approach into home kitchens.

This might not be the flashiest feature, but it's the one I'll genuinely use every single time I cook.

For me, it's the standout feature of Software Update 1.5.

4. Auto Tick Settings ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Software Update 1.5 introduces more control over Auto Tick, allowing you to customise how Guided Cooking automatically marks ingredients as complete while you're weighing them.

You can now:

• Adjust how quickly Auto Tick responds.

• Allow ingredients to tick off before reaching the exact target weight.

• Turn Auto Tick off completely if you prefer.

This means Guided Cooking can now be tailored to suit the way you cook.

⭐ My Review

I actually think this is a really useful improvement.

As someone who cooks quite quickly, I often find myself waiting for Auto Tick to catch up, so I end up tapping it manually and carrying on.

Being able to adjust how quickly it responds means I can set it up to match the way I cook, rather than changing the way I cook to suit the appliance.

I also like that you can choose how accurate you want it to be. If you're baking and want precision, you can keep tighter settings. If you're making a quick midweek meal, you can allow a little more flexibility.

It's a small feature, but one that makes Guided Cooking feel much more personal.

5. Return to the Previous Guided Cooking Step ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One of the simplest but most welcome improvements is the ability to return to the previous Guided Cooking step.

If you've ever pressed Next and immediately wanted to check the previous instruction, you now can with a single tap.

You can quickly review:

• Ingredient quantities

• Mixing speeds

• Temperatures

• Cooking times

• Scraping instructions

⭐ My Review

I'm so pleased this has returned.

This was something we had on the TM6, so having it back on the TM7 makes Guided Cooking feel complete again.

We've all accidentally tapped Next a little too early.

Now it's just one tap away.

It's not the biggest feature in the update, but it's one that removes a genuine frustration.

My Overall Verdict

I think this is an excellent software update.

Rather than adding gimmicks, Vorwerk has focused on improving the features people actually use every day.

The new Auto Tick settings are another excellent quality-of-life improvement, while Russian language support makes the TM7 even more accessible.

What Could We See Next?

One of the biggest strengths of the TM7 is that it continues to evolve. Every software update improves the experience, and it's clear Vorwerk sees Thermomix as much more than just a kitchen appliance.

🤖 Cookidoo Assistant

One announcement that has really excited me is Cookidoo Assistant—Vorwerk's first AI-powered cooking assistant built directly into the Cookidoo ecosystem. The company has announced that it will help users search for recipes using natural language, compare dishes, create personalised meal plans and make better use of the ingredients they already have, with the aim of reducing food waste and making everyday cooking even easier. Early Access is already underway with selected Advisors across seven European countries, including the UK.

I'm fortunate enough to be one of those Advisors involved in the testing process.

I obviously can't share anything beyond what's already been announced publicly, but it's been fascinating to see the direction Vorwerk is taking. Even in its early stages, it's clear that AI has the potential to become a really valuable part of the Thermomix experience.

🌍 My Biggest Wish: Automatic Recipe Translation

If I could choose one future feature, it would be automatic translation of Cookidoo recipes between markets.

Cookidoo now has over 100,000 recipes from around the world, but many are only available in the language of the country where they were created. Cookidoo Assistant is designed to understand natural language and make recipe discovery much easier, so it would be incredible to see that same technology eventually help break down language barriers too.

Imagine finding an amazing recipe from Italy, Spain, France, Germany or Australia and being able to translate it instantly into English while keeping the Guided Cooking steps, ingredient quantities and measurements perfectly intact.

There are so many fantastic regional recipes that never make it into every market. Automatic translation could open up thousands of new recipes and allow us to enjoy the creativity of Thermomix communities across the world.

🤖 Where Could AI Go Next?

Cookidoo Assistant has been announced as the first step in bringing meaningful AI into the Thermomix ecosystem, and Vorwerk has already described it as "only the beginning of our journey."

As the technology develops, I'd love to see AI become even more of a cooking companion.

Imagine asking:

• "I've only got 400g of chicken. Can I still make this recipe?"

• "What's the best substitute for crème fraîche?"

• "I've got peppers, spinach and mince in the fridge. What should I cook tonight?"

• "Suggest a three-course Italian dinner for six people."

Those are simply my own ideas rather than announced features, but they show just how exciting the future could be.

Final Thoughts

Software Update 1.5 proves that the TM7 isn't a product that stands still.

Every update makes it a little smarter, a little easier to use and a little more enjoyable to cook with.

For me, Gather Ingredients is the star of this update, but it's also exciting to look ahead. With Cookidoo Assistant now officially announced and AI becoming part of the Thermomix ecosystem, it feels like we're entering a completely new chapter for Guided Cooking.

If I had one request for the future, it would be simple: unlock the full global Cookidoo recipe collection through intelligent translation. I think that would be a game-changer for every Thermomix user.
